Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) in Australia
Get nationally recognised qualifications based on your verified skills and experience. Right Pathway helps Australian and international professionals fast‑track outcomes through accredited RPL pathways (typical 4–8 weeks; complex cases may extend to 12).
What is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is an assessment method that converts your existing skills and experience—gained through work, training, or life—into nationally recognised qualifications. It saves time and money by recognising what you already know—reducing or removing the need for duplicate study.
RPL Process
Step - by - Step Procedure

1. Enquiry
Discuss goals and confirm the following:
- Qualification name
- Are you currently in Australia?
- If yes, what visa do you have?
2. RPL Process
via email
We will send you an email outlining the RPL process along with the list of required documents for your initial assessment.
3. Collect Evidence
Reply back to the email we sent with your attach documents. (Pictures/portfolio are required for trade courses)
4. Initial Assessment & Payment
We will conduct an initial assessment, making sure that you have submitted all the necessary documents and if you qualify. You also need to secure the payment before we submit your documents to our partner RTO’s for assessment.
5. RTO Assessment & Feedback
The partner RTO assessor will review your documents, verify your employer reference, and may request more evidence (rare, as done by RP team already). Duration: 6–8 weeks, fast-track option (within 4–5 weeks).
Based on your submitted evidence, the RTO may schedule a call or online interview to discuss your skills. You may also complete an RPL Kit, with full support from Right Pathway throughout the process.
6. Receive Qualification
Once the certificate is prepared, it will be sent to you via email in PDF format. Please note that any outstanding payments (if applicable) must be settled before the certificate can be delivered.
