Already leading teams, managing operations and driving results across your organisation? Turn your hands-on management and leadership experience into the nationally recognised BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management without going back to study full time.

What Is RPL for the Diploma of Leadership and Management?

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is an Australian Government-endorsed assessment pathway that allows experienced professionals to have their existing skills, knowledge and workplace experience formally assessed against the units of a nationally recognised qualification without completing full classroom-based study.

If you have been leading teams, planning and organising workloads, managing operational plans and using communication skills to support individuals and teams to meet organisational requirements, you may already meet the competency requirements for the BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management. RPL allows you to demonstrate those competencies through documented evidence rather than repeating training you have already mastered in your career.

The BSB50420 is an AQF Level 5 qualification under the BSB Business Services Training Package. It reflects the role of individuals who apply knowledge, practical skills and experience in leadership and management across a range of enterprise and industry contexts. It supersedes the previous BSB51918 Diploma of Leadership and Management and is the current nationally recognised standard for managers and team leaders across all industries in Australia. Current Release 3, last updated 25 January 2022.

No Entry Requirements: There are no formal entry requirements for BSB50420. This means RPL is accessible to experienced managers and team leaders regardless of their prior formal qualifications. Your workplace experience is what counts.
