RPL for Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
Already delivering training, assessing competency or coaching in a workplace or VET environment? Turn your hands-on experience into the nationally recognised TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment — without going back to study full time.
What Is RPL for the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment?
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is an Australian Government-endorsed assessment pathway that allows experienced training and assessment professionals to have their existing skills, knowledge and workplace experience formally assessed against the units of a nationally recognised qualification — without completing full classroom-based study.
If you have been delivering training, assessing competency, designing learning programs or coaching in a workplace, RTO, TAFE, corporate training environment or industry setting, you may already have the competencies required for the TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. RPL allows you to demonstrate those competencies through evidence rather than coursework.
The TAE40122 is the current nationally recognised Certificate IV-level qualification for trainers and assessors across Australia's Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector. It is the minimum qualification required for trainers and assessors operating without supervision under the Standards for RTOs 2015 and applicable VET legislation — and is accepted by RTOs, TAFEs, government agencies and corporate training departments across all states and territories.
