RPL for Certificate III in Solid Plastering

Already working as a solid plasterer or renderer applying plaster, cement and other mixtures to interior and exterior walls in residential or commercial construction? Turn your hands-on trade experience into the nationally recognised CPC31020 Certificate III in Solid Plastering without going back to study full time.

What Is RPL for the Certificate III in Solid Plastering?

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is an Australian Government-endorsed assessment pathway that allows experienced tradespeople to have their existing skills, knowledge and workplace experience formally assessed against the units of a nationally recognised qualification without completing full classroom-based study.

If you have been applying plaster, cement render and other mixtures to create smooth or decorative finishes on interior walls and rendering exterior walls in residential or commercial construction, you may already meet the competency requirements for the CPC31020 Certificate III in Solid Plastering. RPL allows you to demonstrate those competencies through documented evidence rather than repeating trade training you have already mastered on the tools.

The CPC31020 is an AQF Level 3 qualification under the CPC Construction, Plumbing and Services Training Package. It is the nationally recognised trade qualification for solid plasterers and renderers in Australia. It supersedes the previous CPC31011 qualification and is the current standard accepted for trade licensing and contractor registration across most states and territories. Current Release 3, last updated 24 December 2024.

Licensing Note: State and territory jurisdictions may have different licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements for solid plasterers and renderers. Relevant state and territory regulatory authorities should be consulted to confirm those requirements. Right Pathway can advise on the specific licensing requirements in your state.
