What Is RPL for Certificate III in Hospitality?
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is an Australian Government-endorsed assessment pathway that allows experienced hospitality workers to have their existing skills, knowledge and workplace experience formally assessed against the units of a nationally recognised qualification — without completing full classroom-based study.
If you have been working in a restaurant, hotel, bar, café, club, motel or pub, you may already have the competencies required for the SIT30622 Certificate III in Hospitality. RPL allows you to demonstrate those competencies through evidence rather than coursework.
The SIT30622 is the current nationally recognised qualification for hospitality workers across Australia. It covers food and beverage service, bar operations, accommodation services, customer service and responsible service of alcohol — and is accepted by employers in every state and territory.

⚠️ Minimum Experience Requirement
To be eligible for RPL toward SIT30622, you should have a minimum of 12 months of practical hospitality experience in a relevant role. Your experience must cover the core competency areas of the qualification including customer service, food safety and workplace health and safety.
