What Is RPL for Diploma of Remedial Massage?

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is an assessment pathway that considers whether your existing skills, knowledge and workplace experience align with the units of competency in a nationally recognised qualification.

If you have been working in remedial massage clinics, complementary health practices, wellness settings, multidisciplinary health services or self-employed massage practice, your experience may be relevant to the HLT52021 Diploma of Remedial Massage.

Short answer: HLT52021 RPL allows experienced massage therapists and remedial massage therapists to have existing skills and evidence reviewed against the Diploma of Remedial Massage through a partner RTO assessment pathway.
Compliance note: Right Pathway is not a Registered Training Organisation. We provide evidence preparation, facilitation and pathway support only. Formal competency assessment and qualification issuance are completed by the partner RTO.

HLT52021 reflects the role of remedial massage therapists who work with clients presenting with soft tissue dysfunction, musculoskeletal imbalance or restricted range of motion. Practitioners may be self-employed or work within a larger health service.

Clinical practice requirement: The qualification requires at least 200 hours of work in a simulated clinical environment as specified in the relevant assessment requirements. Applicants exploring RPL should expect the partner RTO to determine how this requirement must be demonstrated.
