What Does Right Pathway Do?
Right Pathway is an Australian Recognition of Prior Learning support business based in Westminster, Western Australia. We provide preliminary eligibility guidance, document organisation and evidence-preparation support Australia-wide.
Our support includes:
- Discussing possible qualification pathways for your experience, previous learning and goals.
- Helping identify relevant employment records, references, work samples and training documents.
- Helping organise and label your evidence portfolio and flag apparent document gaps.
- Providing administrative and pathway support through the referral process.
This support may suit applicants who have relevant experience but no matching formal qualification, have overseas work records, or need help understanding possible pathways and organising their evidence.
Right Pathway is not a Registered Training Organisation. We do not conduct formal competency assessment, deliver accredited training or issue qualifications. The partner RTO controls enrolment, evidence requirements, assessment methods, competency decisions and certification.
Explore the six-stage RPL pathway and read our support scope and service terms before proceeding. Our city pages describe online support, not a network of physical offices.
What Is Recognition of Prior Learning in Australia?
Recognition of Prior Learning, or RPL, is an evidence-based assessment process. It allows an RTO to assess your existing skills and knowledge against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification or individual units of competency.
Relevant learning may come from employment, self-employment, overseas work, previous study, volunteering or informal training. A job title or years of experience alone do not establish competency: the assessing RTO must determine whether your evidence meets the applicable requirements.
Assessment may involve reviewing documents, verifying references, asking questions, observing practical skills or requesting additional evidence. Further assessment or gap training may be required. Submitting an evidence portfolio does not guarantee a qualification.
For nationally recognised VET qualifications, the assessing RTO must be authorised for the relevant qualification. Right Pathway helps you explore possible pathways and prepare evidence before independent assessment. Read the guide to Recognition of Prior Learning in Australia for more detail.
Why Applicants Choose Recognition of Prior Learning
Save Time
RPL may reduce repeated training where you can demonstrate existing skills. Further assessment or gap training may still be required.
Save Money
RPL may cost less than a full training program in some circumstances. Compare written fees and any additional assessment or training costs.
Use Your Evidence
Work records, references, photos, licences and previous training may support assessment. The RTO decides whether evidence meets its requirements.
Requirements vary by qualification and assessing RTO. Time savings, cost savings and qualification outcomes are not guaranteed.

Preliminary guidance and evidence preparation come first. The partner RTO controls formal assessment and certification. Requirements and the order of activities may vary by pathway.

2. RPL Information
Receive pathway information and an initial evidence checklist. Confirm applicable fees and service terms before accepting paid services.
3. Collect Evidence
Gather authentic work records, references, work samples and previous training documents. Obtain permission to share confidential workplace material.
4. Initial Review
Right Pathway checks document organisation and apparent gaps. This preliminary review does not determine competency or bind the partner RTO.
5. RTO Assessment
The partner RTO verifies evidence and assesses competency. It may require interviews, practical demonstrations, further evidence or gap training.
6. Assessment Outcome
The RTO records competency decisions and explains any remaining requirements. Certification is issued only when applicable requirements are met.
Right Pathway provides preliminary guidance and evidence-preparation support. Partner RTOs control formal assessment and certification. Read the full six-stage RPL process.

We help identify potentially relevant documents and organise evidence before independent partner RTO assessment. The RTO may require interviews, practical demonstrations, workplace observations or further evidence.
A nationally recognised qualification does not automatically satisfy occupational licensing, registration, migration, employment or university admission requirements. The relevant authority or institution makes those decisions.
